UNIVA (Universidad del Valle de Atemajac) is a university system, a private Catholic university located in 7 states of Mexican Republic and 10 cities of Mexico and one online.  It was founded in 1962 and it is the largest Catholic University in Mexico. UNIVA’s mission is to train people and professionals of human, scientific and technological quality, committed to the transformation of the community and social responsibility, through pedagogy of its own, focused on the search for truth, freedom and transcendent meaning of the human being.

UNIVA La Piedad is located at Tecnológico, La Piedad, Michoacán. It was created in 1979 to offer higher quality education through a flexible model, attentive to the theoretical-practical needs of its applicants. There is a large variety of academic programs in the different levels: masters degrees; bachelor degrees; online programs; postgraduate programs;  graduate, workshops and courses;  baccalaureate programs, and a special bachelor program  for people that need to work and study at same time.
