Currently, the sewage network (about 1,200 km length) covers almost 95% of the city’s territory. The Novi Sad sewage system has more than 80 pumping stations with more than 150 pumps. Currently, small wastewater treatment plants exist in Kovilj, Rumenka and Stepanovićevo, and the City Administration for Construction Land.

The construction of a new main pumping station NGC1, the most significant and most expensive investment in the city’s history, is planned for 2021. It will be equipped with double gratings, coarse and fine, so that all solid particles with a diameter of more than 6 mm will be removed. which will make the water that reaches the Danube, at the site of the new outflow, practically free of waste.

In addition to the construction of NGC1, the construction of a collector towards the central treatment plant is also planned, within the concept of which it is necessary to transfer the basin above the DTD – Klis Canal through the canal by one pipeline and reach the same in NGC1.
