2. Ankara Water and Sewerage Administration
Public water supply in Ankara is managed by three separate agencies, DSI (State Hydraulic Works), Ministry of Environment and Forestry and ASKI (Ankara Municipal Water Authority), each with separate and interrelated responsibilities.
ASKI serves more than 4 million customers with water in Ankara. It operates more than 10,000 km of water transmission and distribution mains. Before beginning the leakage detection survey, there was about 36% of its water lost from pump. Leakage was due to bad condition of pipeline and the transmission main was over 30-year-old.
